Federal Tax Credits

For 2013, homeowners will be eligible for Federal Tax Credits on qualified energy efficiency improvements in HVAC as follows:

Air Conditioning ($300) - 16 SEER and 13 EER minimum efficiency
Heat Pumps ($300) - 15 SEER, 12.5 EER and 8.5 HSPF minimum efficiency
Advanced main air circulating fan (variable speed) ($50)
Furnaces ($150) - 95% minimum efficiency

Consumers who install solar energy systems (including solar water heating and solar electric systems), small wind systems, geothermal heat pumps, and residential fuel cell and microturbine systems can receive a 30% tax credit for systems placed in service before December 31, 2016. Previous tax credit caps no longer apply.
