Fenix Heating & Cooling has served Wichita and nearby Kansas communities since 1988. In May 2026, our comfort specialists traveled to Whitewater, Kansas, for a project that allowed us to put that experience to work for a meaningful local purpose.
Through the METUS C.A.R.E.S. program, Fenix installed new Mitsubishi Electric heating and cooling equipment at Whitewater American Legion. The project brought together Mitsubishi Electric technology, community program support, and the hands-on experience of the Fenix team.
For us, the work was about providing a practical improvement to a space connected to local veterans and community members. The completed system will help Whitewater American Legion maintain a more comfortable indoor environment as Kansas temperatures change throughout the year.
What Is the METUS C.A.R.E.S. Program?
Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC, commonly known as METUS, supplies Mitsubishi Electric heating and cooling systems across the United States. Its Community Awareness Reward Enablement System, or C.A.R.E.S., helps participating HVAC contractors support charitable projects in their local markets.
Through the program, METUS works with qualified contractors and participating distributors to provide Mitsubishi Electric HVAC equipment for approved community projects. Local contractors then contribute their installation experience to put that equipment into service.
This approach allows heating and cooling professionals to give back using the skills they already bring to homes and businesses every day. Rather than providing short-term assistance, the program supports practical HVAC improvements that can benefit recipients well beyond the installation date.
Fenix’s work at Whitewater American Legion reflects that purpose. With support from METUS C.A.R.E.S., our team was able to install an updated comfort solution for an organization rooted in service.
Supporting Whitewater American Legion
American Legion organizations have a long history of giving veterans a place to connect, find fellowship, and continue serving their communities. Whitewater American Legion represents that tradition in Whitewater, Kansas.

The Whitewater Comfort Project
The project included work inside and outside the Whitewater American Legion building. Fenix installed Mitsubishi Electric equipment designed to provide dependable heating and cooling throughout the year.

Fenix installed wall-mounted Mitsubishi Electric indoor units along with the corresponding outdoor equipment. The team carefully positioned each component, completed the necessary connections, and checked the system after installation.
The new equipment gives Whitewater American Legion a practical way to manage indoor comfort as outdoor temperatures change.

The completed system provides an updated heating and cooling solution for the building. It will help create a more comfortable environment for the people who gather there throughout the year.
